Speech Title: Agronomic factors of corn (Zea mays L.) produced under water stress conditions and fertilized with biofertilizer in the semi-arid region of Paraíba, Brazil.

Abstract: In semiarid areas producing corn in the state of Paraiba (Brazil), despite the social and economic importance of this culture associated with some types of stress mainly in semiarid regions, this is a scientific study, with rigorous methodological methods, which emphasizes several interactions between soil-water-plant and their specific implications between causes and effects on the initial production of corn plants in semiarid regions. This study aims to analyze the vegetative growth and productive parameters of corn (Poaceae) fertigated with bovine biofertilizer under irrigation levels. It’s a very recurrent agricultural practice in world and in Brazil, working with low quality waters and use of ecological organic inputs, as the bovine biofertilizer made in semiarid regions, as it involves a social, cultural and environmental issue, as well as emphasizing the salinization and sodification of Brazil's agricultural lands, and even in semiarid regions, of county to Catole do Rocha-PB.

Biography:

Prof. Alex S. de Lima is linked to the State University of Paraíba (UEPB) and the Agrotechnical School of Cajueiro. Specialized by the Graduate Program in Sustainable Productive Systems for the Semiarid Region (UEPB). He has experience in the field of Agronomy, Agroecology, Family Agriculture and Vegetable Production. He is the author and co-author of national and international scientific articles and abstracts, as well as published books and book chapters. He has dedicated efforts to increase the sustainability of agricultural production, improve the quality of food and optimize the use of natural resources. Especially interested in the processes of relationship between plants through the conscious use of mineral and organic fertilizers in the soil. He has served as an ad hoc reviewer for journals such as Annual Research & Review in Biology, the Green Magazine on Agroecology and Sustainable Development and the Family Agriculture Magazine. Develops scientific research at the Experimental Agroecology Station at the Center for Human and Agrarian Sciences on Campus IV of UEPB, Catolé do Rocha-PB, acting in the following areas: fertilization, nutrition and irrigation management in the quality and production of fruit and vegetables in semiarid conditions, adequate management of the Soil-Water-Plant System and organic management of agricultural soils.
